The Opportunity
Are you highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive with a passion for supply chain coordination and ensuring critical parts and materials are delivered on time? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Officer Expediting to join our high-performing team at Batam Rebuild Centre.
As a key member of the Batam Rebuild Centre team, you'll be responsible for monitoring and expediting the delivery of spare parts, components, materials and services required for heavy equipment rebuild activities, ensuring materials are available to support workshop schedules and operational requirements.

As the [Position Title], you will:
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments and delivery schedules, proactively following up to ensure parts, materials and services are delivered according to required timelines.
- Coordinate closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Maintenance, Rebuild and suppliers to identify potential delays and implement timely actions to minimise disruption to rebuild activities.
- Maintain accurate expediting records and provide regular updates on order status, outstanding items, delivery dates and potential supply risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports on overdue and Open Outstanding Orders (O3) to suppliers and relevant stakeholders, driving timely resolution of delivery issues.
- Analyze and report procurement performance metrics, including purchasing cycle time, delivery lead time, supplier delivery performance (OTD/DIFOT) and order fulfilment status, to support continuous improvement and effective supply chain operations
About you
- Diploma or relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years experience in expediting, procurement, logistics or supply chain coordination, preferably within mining, heavy equipment, engineering or workshop environments.
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication, coordination and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP/procurement systems, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving supply issues.
