The Opportunity

Are you a reliable and safety-focused Trade Assistant who enjoys working in a hands-on maintenance environment? Thiess is seeking motivated Trade Assistants to join our high-performing team at Curragh North Coal Project, located 10km north of Blackwater in the Bowen Basin.

As a key member of the Curragh North Maintenance team, you'll play an important role in supporting safe and efficient maintenance activities across the operation while contributing to a strong safety culture and high housekeeping standards.

Roster: 7/7 Day & Night Rotating | Location: Curragh North Coal Project, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent

As the Trade Assistant, you will:

• Support tradespeople with workshop repairs, maintenance activities and general workshop tasks
• Assist stores personnel with inventory management and warehouse operations
• Complete general site maintenance activities including mowing, spraying and minor repairs
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across all workshop and operational areas
• Demonstrate a positive, safety-focused attitude while contributing to team success

About you

• Previous experience as a Trade Assistant within mining, heavy industry or construction environments (highly regarded)
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and support multiple maintenance functions
• Commitment to Thiess' values of Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and Delivery

Desirable Qualifications

• HR Driver Licence
• Current Forklift Licence (LF)
• Current Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
