The Opportunity

Are you a hands-on leader and experienced mobile maintenance professional with a passion for building safe, high-performing teams? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join our high-performing team at Curragh North Project.

As a key member of the Curragh North Project team, you'll be responsible for supporting safe and efficient mining operations by leading maintenance activities across our mobile equipment fleet, ensuring maximum availability, reliability and performance.

Roster: 7/7 Day & Night Rotation | Location: Curragh North Project, Central Queensland | Employment Type: Full Time

As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop maintenance personnel while fostering a strong safety and performance culture.
  • Coordinate and execute maintenance activities to achieve fleet availability, targeted service times and schedule compliance.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, support incident investigations and build strong stakeholder relationships across site operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency and overall fleet performance.
  • Monitor maintenance costs, resource allocation and operational KPIs to achieve business targets and maximise equipment availability.

About you

  • As the successful applicant, you will be a high achieving & team focused individual with a focus on a collaboration and achieving within your work team. You have previous experience in open cut coal mining & a drive to deliver.
  • Mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering
  • Extensive post trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, environment and the community
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and condition monitoring
  • The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of relevant mining related legislation
