The Opportunity

Are you an organised and safety-focused warehouse professional with a passion for inventory management and supporting maintenance operations? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Officer to join our high-performing team at Curragh North Coal Project.

As a key member of the Curragh North Maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage and distribution of parts, tools and materials while supporting safe, productive and reliable maintenance operations across site.

Roster: 7/7 Day & Night Rotating | Location: Curragh North Coal Project, QLD  | Employment Type: Permanent

As the Warehouse Officer, you will:

  • Oversee the receipt, storage and distribution of parts, tools and materials used in mining operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions and stock movements.
  • Ensure all materials are properly stored, labelled and accessible for efficient retrieval.
  • Assist in managing stock levels and ordering supplies as required.
  • Conduct regular stocktakes and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Support maintenance teams by ensuring the availability of required parts and tools.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure the timely supply of materials to operational teams.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to manage ordering and returns of goods.
  • Monitor compliance with safety protocols, workplace procedures and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with the management of hazardous materials in accordance with site standards.

About you

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Officer, Storeperson or similar role within the mining or industrial sector.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and stock control processes.
  • Familiarity with mining equipment and maintenance materials.
  • Current Forklift Licence (mandatory).
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures within a mining or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Current Standard 11.
