The Opportunity

Are you a safety-focused Tyre Fitter with a passion for maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Tyre Fitter to join our high-performing team at Peak Downs Mine in Queensland.

As a key member of the Peak Downs maintenance team, you'll play an integral role in maintaining our heavy earthmoving tyre fleet, supporting safe and efficient operations while delivering high-quality results in a collaborative environment.

Roster: 7/7 Day Shift | Location: Peak Downs Mine, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As the Tyre Fitter, you will:

  • Remove, refit and maintain tyres to ensure optimal fleet performance.
  • Fit and remove rims and wheel assemblies on heavy earthmoving equipment.
  • Conduct tyre pressure inspections, identify issues and proactively report equipment concerns.
  • Access and interpret technical manuals, bulletins and digital maintenance resources.
  • Work in accordance with site procedures, safety standards and best practice maintenance processes.

About you

  • Experience working as a Tyre Fitter in open cut mining maintaining a heavy earthmoving tyre fleet.
  • Current AUR21920 Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing or AURKTJ011 & AURKTJ012.
  • Current Driver's Licence, with HR Licence highly regarded.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-focused mining environment.
