The Opportunity

As a Trainee Procurement Officer, you will undertake a 12-month formal traineeship while providing administrative support to the Procurement team and completing a nationally recognised qualification. This is an exciting opportunity for someone starting their career to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment while building practical skills in procurement, stakeholder engagement and business administration. 

Working alongside experienced procurement professionals, you will gain exposure to procurement processes, systems and governance requirements while supporting the day-to-day administration of procurement activities. Based in our Brisbane Head Office, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to establish a long-term career in procurement, commercial operations or business administration within the mining industry. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide administrative support to the Procurement team and assist with day-to-day procurement activities.  

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier records and procurement documentation.  

  • Monitor procurement inboxes, respond to routine enquiries and support suppliers with administrative queries.  

  • Maintain accurate electronic filing systems, records and supplier documentation.  

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding procurement documentation and process requirements.  

  • Build and maintain professional and effective working relationships across the business.  

  • Actively participate in the formal traineeship program, including completing coursework and attending scheduled training and development activities.  

About You

  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent.  

  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.  

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.  

  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accurate records.  

  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to successfully completing formal study requirements.  

  • Previous administration experience will be highly regarded; however, no prior experience is required as full training and support will be provided.
