The Opportunity

Are you organised, detail-oriented, and safety-focused with a passion for tool control, equipment management, and supporting efficient mining manufacturing operations? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Tool Keeper to join our high-performing team at Batam Rebuild Centre.

As a key member of the Batam Rebuild Centre team, you'll be responsible for managing and maintaining tools, equipment, and workshop assets, including issuing and receiving tools, conducting inspections, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring all equipment is safely stored and readily available to support mining manufacturing and maintenance activities.

Roster: 5:2| Location: PT Thiess Engineering Indonesia, Batam| Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

 

As the Tool Keeper, you will:

  • Control access and usage of critical special tools required for heavy equipment rebuild and overhaul activities.
  • Coordinate effectively with Workshop Technicians, Planning, Engineering and Procurement departments regarding tool requirements and availability.
  • Develop digitization system to manage multiple documents generated during the warehouse process.
  • Define clear reasons of quality problems and the solution for operational warehouse.
  • Maintain tool inventory accuracy through proper issuance, return, tracking, and storage systems.
  • Tool identification, labelling, asset tagging, and tool control processes.
  • Developing the related work procedures/ instruction as needed to control the safe work environment.
  • Report all unsafe condition / potential hazards and safety incident proactively.
  • Develop digitization system to manage multiple documents generated during the warehouse process 

 

About you

  • Minimum High School with Technical / Warehouse / Manufacturing background.
  • Minimum 2 years experienced as a Store Person.
  • Capable of using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Has experience with warehouse management.
  • Has experience managing inventory within a high-volume warehouse environment.
  • Strong communication & initiative to drive accountability across Tool users.
  • CAT Parts understanding, Common spare parts understanding related to engineering activities.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop tools, including hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tools, pneumatic tools, lifting tools, and special rebuild tools.
  • Knowledge of tool life cycle management, including maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal.
  • Understanding of calibration requirements and calibration status monitoring.
