The Opportunity

Are you a skilled Diesel Fitter with a passion for maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at Curragh North Coal Project near Blackwater, Queensland.

As a key member of the Curragh North team, you'll be responsible for safely maintaining and repairing our mobile mining fleet to maximise equipment reliability, availability and performance.

Roster: Even Time (12.25-hour Days & Nights) | Location: Curragh North Coal Project, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

As the Diesel fitter, you will

  • Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance on large-scale mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems and procedures.
  • Complete general maintenance, breakdown repairs, component change-outs and servicing to a high standard.
  • Source and apply technical information from OEM manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Conduct inspections to maximise equipment utilisation and reliability.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards at all times.

About you

  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Post-trade experience within the mining or heavy earthmoving industry.
  • Demonstrated experience completing maintenance, breakdown repairs, component change-outs and servicing on heavy mining equipment.
  • Experience working on Liebherr and CAT mobile equipment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and quality workmanship.
